This was my first foray into packaging design – customized chocolate wrappers for an Investment Fund Management company – Aquamarine Fund.

The client is based in the US and the wrappers were printed by Spruengli – who also makes the chocolates. The chocolates were meant for Christmas 2006/New Year 2007 for distribution among corporate clients – hence the brief was to keep it simple and professional.

  1. Looks cool. Is it just me, or its the color variation in print? The one in graphic above looks way better than the actual print.

    Nice work!

  2. Oh no, Naina, Sprüngli is not a printer. Sprüngli is Zurich’s exclusive confectioner’s shop with a tearoom on the most famous Zurich Bahnhofstrasse where all the banks are, and where the bankers’ wives sip tea or cream-topped hot chocolate and gobble up those delicious pastries and gossip after their shopping spree…

So: Wall Street yuppies go and buy their chocolate in the Swiss bankers’ hunting grounds and have them stylishly wrapped by Indian artist Naina. I like that. Once we are done with our logo, I am going to send you some yummy Swiss chocolate!

  3. Hey Maya, You’re right, the article’s language does give the impression that Sprüngli is a printer. I know they’re not printers 🙂 But I transferred the final files to them and they did get the wrappers printed at their end – surely they have a dedicated printer who they contract this work out to regularly. But yes, the Swiss chocolates are welcome anytime at all! I love chocolates!
