UPDATE

This happened.

Why not to purchase a camera bag from ONA Bags. Brooklyn Camera bag.

While I was shooting, the strap came loose – didn’t fall because the strap was fastened. Thankfully the camera was in my hand and there was no other gear in the bag. Could happen with any of the other rivets on the bag – and none of the others have secondary fasteners. Ouch. Also scary.

I’m back to square one in my search for a stylish camera bag that will also keep my gear safe. Unfortunate to see the company spending so much time doing giveaways and other marketing programs but not spending time building products that last. The Brooklyn Bag is falling apart within two months of my receiving it from them. #heartbreak And I can’t get a refund either because B&H Photo – from where I purchased the bag – doesn’t do refunds after 30 days and ONA doesn’t have a “policy” of refunds when the purchase has been made from a third party store.

I do not recommend buying from ONA Bags.

START OF ORIGINAL BLOG POST

You’ve already seen my previous post where I showed off my gift to myself. @onabags was kind enough to send in a replacement for the previous piece that had a bit of a scratch / scuff on it. They were also very patient with the Indian FedEx demands of this paper and that and as I stand to believe, they even had to pay customs duty – even though I had already paid it for the previous shipment and this was a replacement.

[ All photographs of me have been shot by @akanksharedhu Thank you baby! ] Location courtesy Cheri, One Qutub @cheri1qutub . Shoes by BASH by @jyothsna86 And last but not the least THANK YOU @meerasapra for taking care of the final leg! *hugs*

The Sangria at Cheri was delectable! Another place I can go to when I have a Sangria craving! Yay!

While I only have praise for the customer support in ALL possible aspects, I’m still not delighted with the replacement [ I HATE myself for saying that but it’s what I feel ]. While it feels a whole lot more “supple” as compared to the first piece, which was a lot harder and this new piece has no scratches / scuffs either… there’s still tiny issues like the edges of the leather that are coated in a shiny substance – presumably to protect the edges – that coating is already cracked in a few places. Sharp cracks through which I can see the leather edge.

Also, like in the previous post, you’d seen the thread had come out from the handle? See last two photos on this post, in two outings, the thread has come out on the handle of the new piece as well.

These aren’t issues I can’t live without but my whole lament remains the same. When I am buying a product worth Rs. 24,000 I expect a certain kind of finishing. [ Make that Rs. 31,000 inclusive of customs duty. ] I am showing off my shiny new bag of course but there’s a “but”.

Still showing off! There’s no doubt I heart my new ONA Brooklyn Camera Bag.
