This was Sahil Kochhar’s debut show and I was especially looking forward to it because he has in the past designed a beautiful ensemble for one of my friends’ weddings. I’d seen his handiwork already and knew he would be presenting beautiful work and I was thrilled with his show! Sahil has trained and worked under Rohit Bal, so it would be unfair to expect any less from the lanky lad.
Sahil Kochhar’s collection was titles “phuler tora”, which is “bouquet of flowers” in Bengali. Sahil’s team ( mostly friends who were there to cheer him on! ) we even handing out white paper flower bouquets to the audience. These were to be showered onto Sahil when he finally walked down the runway at the end of the show.
Each model that walked out on the runway wearing Sahil’s work was welcomed with renewed applause. The loudest cheers in the room were from Rohit Bal himself who sat front row. I thought that was absolutely lovely.
Sahil walks till the end of the runway and on his way back, below, he spots Rohit in the front row! Adorable.
Good stuff Sahil. Waiting to see more. Beautiful work. ( And I hope you will forgive me for the faux pas previously when I visited your stall 😛 ).
