Photographed from the drop-off point at Bogibeel, at the banks of the Brahmaputra river in Dibrugarh, Assam, where we would be getting on a boat to make the river crossing to Likabali, Assam. Flat plains for as far as the eye can see, dotted with patched of water and more rain on the horizon. Bogibeel grows and produces one of the most beautiful grains of rice I’ve eaten. Red and fibrous and fat.
