( Behind The Scenes with the Wax Figure Artists at the Madame Tussauds, New Delhi attraction. )
After having heard about Madame Tussauds launching in India for so long, I was completely thrilled when I got a chance to partner with them and get a sneak peek behind-the-scenes preview!
I’ve been fascinated by the wax figures and art work by the Madame Tussauds brand since I was a child and first heard about them just before I turned a teenager. While I was very excited that the brand wanted to work with me, I was more curious to actually see the wax figures in-person. It was my first time at a Madame Tussauds attraction and I ended up having way more fun than I’d imagined. Some of the figures are surreal – they look like they’re about to say something any second now!
I’m sharing photographs of some of my favorites – the Ranbir Kapoor wax figure was my absolute favorite followed closely by the one of Anil Kapoor. I think the artists have done a wonderful job. I have seen both people in real life at some point and the wax figures felt real too. The aim of the brand is of course to produce exact replicas of how a celebrity / prominent person looks in real life. But more than that, I learned, their goal is to let viewers have fun. You can touch the wax figures too – as I found out when I was encouraged to get on the back seat of the motorcycle Tom Cruise is riding! OH MY GAWD that was fun and I LOVE the photograph the team took of me ( scroll down to see it ).
The attraction ( which opens on the 1st of December, 2017 ) has many more interactive games / features that people of any age can enjoy. You can book tickets right away – the brand has opened pre-bookings. ( And they even have some Diwali / festive season discounts on right now! ) Link to see ticket options.
If you’d like to follow the Madame Tussauds Delhi team on various social networks to keep track of the latest they’re upto ( and there’s a lot more to come – new wax figures – sometime the celebrities themselves available at the launch event! ), I’m sharing links below.
Madame Tussauds Delhi : Website | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Tickets
Conveniently located above Regal Cinemas in Connaught Place, it’s worth a nice 2-3 hour visit with the family or friends, after which you can head out for brunch / lunch / evening drinks to one of the hundreds of places in CP. Don’t forget to take lots of selfies, but of course.
While the attraction launches for the public from the 1st of December onward, there’s special preview weekends starting from the 3rd of November! Read more here and get tickets! You can purchase tickets at the venue of course but online prices are a whole lot cheaper and there’s no guarantee you’ll get tickets for the day when you go to the venue – it’s bound to be super busy. But if you buy online, while tickets last, entry is guaranteed. ( Preview weekends means that on weekends before the official launch date, there’s special entry for a limited number of people. Do read the T&C on the link I’ve shared. )
