TEDxDelhi

The TEDx New Delhi event was held at The India Habitat Center, New Delhi on a very very rainy Sunday morning. 1st of August was indeed a Sunday well-spent – not only intently listening to the speakers, but also mingling with the participants and TED Fellows who were present at the event. Some of the people who made it possible were @ferozegujral @aakriti @iamyashraj @parmeshs and @nixxin

Sorry if I missed some, but I am not aware of the entire team. The hashtag on Twitter for the event was #tedxdelhi and their Twitter account is @tedxdelhi Following are some of the photographs with a brief of who is in them / what is going on in them.

That’s @parmeshs & @ferozegujral busy tying up last minute things I’m guessing.

Expectant audience members. All of us were eagerly awaiting the start of TEDxDelhi – and we were also busy updating our Twitter feeds with what we’d seen thus far. Despite Twitter’s scheduled maintenance for almost 4 hours, there was still enough buzz created. @dotmanish in the photograph on top and Mrs. Chisti with her team and a technical member of the TEDxDelhi team fixing up their presentation in the left photograph.

And this is Anuj Sharma. The person in the slide with the fashionable head-dress is Anuj’s tailor. Anuj doesn’t have a website but uses Picasa for his online presence – find him here. He held us in rapture with his ButtonMasala and MasalChai clothes and ingenuity. Very down-to-earth fashion designer from NID, based in Ahmedabad & his ideas are already spreading across the globe. A fantastic addition by the TEDxDelhi team.

The last three photographs are from the last ‘speaker’ – singer actually : Rabbi Shergill. He was bound to capture the interest of almost everyone present. Certainly woke me up. Not only with his music but also with this “work is a waste” anecdote. He made the audience join him in the singing and the clapping – everyone complied I might add.
