Had traveled to Ranikhet in Uttarakhand in October 2012. Slowly getting around to editing and posting the images online to share. I only took the FujiFilm X100 with me and tried to shoot to create broken compositions. A panorama of sorts but not stitched seamlessly. I like the broken, yet somehow-coming-together look. The mountains always have such lovely flowers. Sigh. Bright and fresh and colorful.

And there are pine trees everywhere! Right outside my room too. I love the fragrance of pine trees.

There’s a Kumaon Regiment Museum as well with artifacts from various wars and conflict areas.
Above : Globe Theater. Now defunct but it was the first theater where I watched my first film – I was still a bun in the oven though. Nostalgia. It would be quite an experience to play a film there again. Maybe I can rope some friends in to hook up something. If we get the necessary permissions.

Although I am not religious, the Jhoola Devi temple is a regular place to be visited. So many bells! I will be doing a separate blog post on it soon.

I do wish I can keep going back. It’s just a few hours of driving away and the roads have improved vastly. AND Jim Corbett National Park and it’s lovely wide roads are on the way too. I’ve blogged about Ranikhet earlier too and will be doing more hopefully!

Babu, it was not an accidental discovery. I’m certain I’m not the first one to try something like this. I did shoot all images with a plan to make the “broken panorama”. Thank you for the kind words!
