We meet him probably once a year. Since he doesn’t live in India anymore. Usually we meet at least a couple of times during his India trip but this time, it’s just this once. Things have changed. Like they always do.
That’s the things with friends. Some things never change and some always do. It used to be just us : Saurabh, Praval and me. Now we also have Meera and Bharat. The more the merrier. They all talk more with B than they do with me.
We talked about work, each other, the world. Travel plans, people and food were discussed. Updates on everyone’s lives and the people in them. Really nice way to bring in the close of a year in my opinion. There was a lot of ease, serenity, peace and stories. I think we all had bouts of “talking too much”.
Hot coffee, warm candles and an origami Christmas tree. I wanted to make more trees but I think I lost interest because I was unable to find the right paper.
Aromatic candle ( Iris from Crabtree & Evelyn ), Champagne flavored Truffles all the way from Dusseldorf and luscious Butter & Cashew cookies. Bits on chomp on, fragrances wafting in the room. Alongwith the radiator in the corner to combat the really cold winter day. It was cosy.
I love fairy lights. There’s so much one can do with them. And I have a friend who plies me these. Although they don’t last more then two seasons. All my yellow ones are burnt out. The blue velvet on my favorite couch / futon bed ( FabIndia ). I think I will get at least one more of this once we move into our next apartment, whenever that happens.
Thank you for the cookies Praval & Meera and for the chocolates Saurabh! *love*
And we hardly even checked our smartphones. Now THAT is a successful evening.
