This was Suneet Varma’s first ever western couture line. A much anticipated evening by many – especially because of the sponsors : Swarovski ( they debuted their fine crystal mesh in India for the first time ) and Diacolor ( they provided the jewellery for the models ). the runway was an X with a mass of huge crystal shapes jutting out of the middle. The show was dedicated to Rahul who is Suneet’s partner and started with a cute opening line narrated by Aparna Bahl of Preferred Professionals who produced the show. Delhi’s pleasant evenings combined with DLF Emporio’s location surrounded by greenery made it a crisp setting. ( Except many guests started to smoke cigarettes and cigars just prior to the show and continued to do so throughout the presentation. My hair was smelling like burnt horse-dung by the end of the evening. *cough-choke-bleh* ).
There were lots of familiar faces in the crowd but not the usual fashion-week suspects, which was a lovely change. Met some really interesting people prior to the show and had a blast. And how HOT is Mriganka Singh! She set the runway on fire. Smoking hot presence.
