Day One of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn / Winter 2016 kicked off with Varun Bahl’s show that opened fashion week. For the first time, fashion week in Delhi is being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It’s a beautiful venue! I was quite done with Pragati Maidan and its multitude of problems. At least parking is no longer an issue at JLN Stadium! Motorized buggies are available to take guests from the main gate to the parking lot, which is a fair walking distance especially if you’re wearing heels. The lovely weather today made it easy to be outdoors without sweating bucket.

Powder pink tussar silk shirt by Pushpak Vimaan. The “ethereal princess” is one of their taglines and the clothes are lovely – the colors and the feel are delightful and delicate.
Shiny, embroidered, hard-case clutch by Crazy Palette
High-waisted denim shorts ( American Apparel ) and scarf ( Deepika Govind ) from my wardrobe. Shoes by Banjaaran.

The highlight of the day for me was the Hemant & Nandita runway show. Spectacular as usual. Stunning work. Everything was wearable and worthy of rack space at international stores. Some blog features in the past, I’ve mentioned a couple of ensembles I’d love to wear right off the runway – in this show, I was happy to wear ALL of them. Nicely done!
Here’s looking at more energy infusions on Day Two of #AIFWAW16!
