The boys launched their Winter 2016 Collection at Art Konsult in Hauz Khas Village a couple of evenings ago. Over starry cupcakes and sparkling beer, there were shirts and jackets and footwear that were shiny and sparkly too! The collection is called “Light Year” and the room had been arranged in a way that took the viewer from a blue sky and white clouds to a silver streak and galaxies, planets and stars and the universe. Well thought out placement! And simple. Apoorav & Siddharth had clearly decided on a theme and then stuck to it, which isn’t easy to do considering market pressures.
The materials used include neoprene primarily but also denim and velvet and sheer fabric. The shoes included this one sparkly purple number that Prince would be proud of! Love at first sight ( it’s in the photos below. ) The colours ranged from basic whites, blues, greys and blacks to what are still considered “adventurous” in menswear : multicolored galaxies, shiny copper and silver. Enjoy photos from the launch evening, details of the garments mostly. And it is wonderful to see menswear labels emerge more prominently in the Indian fashion space. The number of people who turned up to show their support was also heartening to see!
