She walked down the runway and both Akanksha and I gasped in wonder. Who was this fabulously beautiful lady on Malan Breton’s runway at New York Fashion Week?

We had spent the entire week running around to many fashion shows at NYFW but we hadn’t quite gasped in this manner at anything we’d seen. And we’d seen a LOT. We didn’t know it at the time but our jaws were on the floor and this ethereal, glowing person was Maye Musk. Elon Musk happens to be one of her children!

Almost two years later, a few days ago, Elon tweeted about his Mom – I follow him on Twitter and Instagram and naturally, I wanted to see what he was saying about his Mom. If he turned out this way, I wondered how amazing his Mum must be.

I saw the photographs on the article and a vague memory seemed to come up – it felt like I’d seen her somewhere. But of course I was sure I was hallucinating because how would that be possible. Then the article went on to say that Maye has walked the runway for fashion designer Malan Breton “last year”. So, naturally, without checking the date stamp on the article, I assumed it was 2016 and felt ridiculously sorry for myself that we’d been one year too early to Malan’s show in 2015.

I forgot all about it till Akanksha looked at my re-tweet and pointed out that the article was in fact, from 2016. At which point I dropped everything and dug through my archived hard drives and am still giddy from having found photographs of her from that runway show! Who woulda thunk?! Eeeeeeks! Also yay!
