The Madame Tussauds New Delhi attraction opened for the public on the 1st of December and I was there for the launch party! This is the third part of the stories I’ve been working on with MT. The first part was the amazing sneak peek preview much before the opening and the second part was the behind-the-scenes with some of the artists who are responsible for these beautiful wax figures.
Right away, I want you to know that there’s a link where you can buy special-Christmas-offer-price tickets to the attraction! These special prices are available from today ( 15th December ) up until New Years only. You can use the ticket within 3 months of purchasing a ticket, so that’s quite convenient. Of course there are other ticket-purchasing options like if you want to go in a group etc.
Now, the launch was an interesting experience for me. For the first time I was observing ( and photographing ) visitors interacting with the wax figures. And it was funny, enchanting and fun. Kids, teenagers and adults alike were enjoying themselves. As expected, there were LOTS of selfies and people were not shy using the props provided by the staff – like the turbans, boxing gloves, leather jackets and hats. Visitors were putting these on before posing for selfies and were not half as shy as I was when interacting with some of their favorite celebrities.
My favorite photo is of the gentleman sitting in front of Madhuri Dixit. LOVE it.
Had to get some selfies myself – with Beyonce and Bieber. Much fun was had. There’s a beautiful red velvet couch at the bottom of one of the staircases – if you spot it, it’s a great place for a sprawled sexy selfie. I posted one on my Instagram that night and it’s one of my favorites. Helps if you have someone to photograph you. The attraction is best enjoyed with company – take your friends / family along.
