Always a pleasure to photograph Rahul and Divya’s work. I also ended up partying hard at their after-party, which was nice because I was going to a “fashion week after-party” after nearly a decade.
I was commissioned to photograph the backstage and runway at the Rahul Mishra NARGIS Couture Week 2024 presentation at The Ashok Hotel by the designer. Lisa Ray walked out as the showstopper, to Afreen-Afreen playing in the background and it will be one of those memorable moments for a 90’s kid like me. And from the original video of the song, it seems it was shot at Kuldhara in Jaisalmer (I’m guessing), which would be another major hit of nostalgia for me, personally.
I’m sharing photographs in four parts, this being the rehearsals, followed by a photo story from the backstage, followed by a photo story from the runway and finally, a photo story focusing on details of some of the garments.
Photographed on the Nikon D810 and D800 with the 24-70mm F2.8 and 70-200mm F2.8 lenses. Post-production in Adobe Lightroom.
