The luxury label, Michael Kors has opened its first ever India store at DLF Emporio, New Delhi. They threw an exclusive launch party at the store on the evening of the 26th of February. Here are some photographs from the evening and a little more about the brand.
Michael Kors was founded by Mr. Michael Kors who designed his first piece of clothing at the tender age of five years! Yes. FIVE. He’s always had an affinity for fashion and has also studied it. He has been entranced by the world of fashion for all his life – which makes that 55 years. If he isn’t an expert, who is!
I had vaguely known about the brand but had not had a chance to interact with them directly. Michael Kors bags are swoon-inducing items and I was thrilled when they offered me one to carry and show-off at the party.
It was a rainy evening in New Delhi as I headed to the launch party with my gorgeous companion. It is a Michael Kors bag from their Resort 2014 Collection and can be worn to a formal evening event as well as a semi-casual daytime jaunt.
It was a lively evening with some of India’s very well-known faces and the 1,500 square feet store was packed. We were greeted with champagne and bits to nibble on. It was a pleasure to catch up with some of the regulars.
Just look at those bags! Luscious leather, beautifully crafted and while most Michael Kors bags have brass fittings, some have silver as well.
Gorgeous totes. The store is a cosy space and guests were soon spilling out into the mall outside the store to keep temperatures low. It got a tad steamy inside.
On the carpet. @RasnaBhasin and me. And a selfie below.
The DJ who played some awesome, foot-tapping music right next to the Michael Kors ready-to-wear section. The store will carry Michael Kors ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, footwear, watches, eyewear and the MICHAEL line of apparel.
And another selfie before I bid adieu for the evening! Thank you for having me over!
A few photographs of my gorgeous companion for the evening. I was unable to find a link for this particular bag online – either on the Michael Kors website or otherwise – I’m guessing because it’s from a new collection, it is probably only available in-store. This is apparently one of their best-sellers.
UPDATE : I’ve just learnt that this bag is the Suntan / White smooth French calf Hutton mini bag from the Michael Kors Resort 2014 Collection.
Details on the front. You can also close the bag under the clear plastic bar. It has a round magnetic snap closure.
This is what the bag looks like from the back. The leather is really supple and I love caressing it.
This above is what I was saying – that you can close the bag above the clear plastic bar as well. If you are going to open and close the bag often to access your belongings, you might find it a little tedious to constantly open and close the flap from under the bar. Closing over the bar makes it a whole lot more accessible.
Details of the bag once it’s opened.
What the bag looks like from behind when it’s open. And below, the bottom part of the bag.
And this is what I wore to the Michael Kors opening party! Full details coming up in a new edition of #CoverUp soon!
Fun party and all you girls can now go drool over the amazing Michael Kors bags IN-PERSON at their DLF Emporio store!
( I quite liked the Hashtag they used for their event – it was #MKDelhi and they have similar hashtags for their other initiatives. It keeps their identity without complicating it too much or making it too generic. Very nice. )

Simply LOVE your brogues!
Thank you Archana! they’re from ALDO but a few seasons old so not sure if they’re still in stock.
u look amazing!
I love your pictures at the end of the story! Really cool look, especially love those brogues. (Been using and abusing the current pair I own, and I need to buy a few more pairs! They’re my new favourite shoes to wear.)
Agreed on the brogues love! I’m going to be checking out the latest Nappa Dori shoes collection – I’ve heard they’re great! Although AAIK the collection is only available in stores and not online on their website.
Oh! I had no idea they made shoes too, please share a link with me if you’re covering anything exclusive for them, espec. regarding the brogues – I’d love to check them out. Have you bought anything from Nappa Dori? I’m not considering buying anything but got a bit tempted when I saw some of their stuff in person. :-O 🙂 // I might buy some cheap pairs from Forever 21, on a side note! Clarks has some prettily crafted ones too, but they’ll get ruined in Bombay! So no Clarks for me, as of now.
