Sunglasses wonderland. Luxottica’s press day at The Lodhi Hotel in New Delhi was awash with the latest styles from the houses of Prada, Versace, Oakley, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Vogue Eyewear and Ray Ban. While there was something for everyone, I had some favourites. Also, there were clearly some styles that almost all the brands have focused on. If it’s round, had a thick frame and is made of wood, and if you are into that sort of thing, get one for yourself. I tried out some of my favourites – and one I tried because the brand’s campaign had Madonna wearing the same glasses! Madonna is THE QUEEN.
The PR team was absolutely fun to interact with and The Lodhi Hotel is a lovely little property. Since it was a day long event, people from the media, bloggers and editors came and went in their own time. Here are some photographs from the afternoon that I shot on my phone. Lots of selfies with some of my favourite sunglasses.
The wall above has photographs from Scott Schuman’s FACES project that he has worked on and is still working on with Luxottica.
Red glittery rims from Versace above and below. These were in two more colors, pink and blue.
Yup, Madonna wore those glasses and I wore them too!
Above Malini Banerji of ELLE trying on the red rimmed glasses from Versace. The wood frames from Prada below were quite ornamental. Walnut wood has been used on the frames.
The glasses I’m wearing above were probably my favourite from the entire display at the venue. SO HOT!
The blue frame ones above were also quite kickass and fun! Definitely something to add that bold quirky thing to your outfit if you’re too lazy to don something elaborate.
The Dolce & Gabbana ones above were quite nice – shiny gold but still kinda subtle. The ones below however turn up the sauciness to quite another level. Hot school teacher vibes anyone?
Above Giorgio Armani and below Emporio Armani – round frames are SO HOT right now.
The butterfly frames Giorgio Armani ones above look better on the model in the campaign. Interesting shape but didn’t work for me.
I’m wearing these shoes EVERYWHERE. I will write about them soonish. So comfortable and not bad looking for pretty much any ensemble. I’ve worn them to a shoot, a party, a press day and for a client meeting so far. I could live in them. They’re the Go Walk 3 shoes from Skechers. White tee, comfy cotton trousers, hat. Summers are here and how. Below, while walking, although the glasses are barely visible, the ones I got at the Luxottica press day are from Vogue EyeWear. If you follow me on any of the social networks – especially Instagram, you’ll spot a clearer photo soon enough.
Thanks for having me over Luxottica and Zeno Group! Cheers!
