Nine French wine and spirits producers and merchants from the main wine regions : Languedoc, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Vallee du Rhone, South-West, Armagnac and Rum from Reunion presented 70 wines during this professional tasting! Obviously, I couldn’t possibly taste all seventy, even though I was assured it was not impolite to swirl / sip and spit or empty the glass – that’s the only way to get through such an evening without being sozzled by the end of the two hours! So I did exactly that. Showing you only a handful of my favourites. Remember, it’s a personal taste / choice. The banana rum was KICKASS! ( Photo above ).
The one table that was completely mobbed was Partick Clerget – Patrick was presenting the tasting portions ( and a lot more in some cases! ) to the guests. I think I went back for seconds for the Morgon 2016 – it was beautiful.
