Second stop for the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour : Hyderabad. At the Taj Falaknuma Palace, post heavy rains, a beautiful, cloudy sky and as pleasant a breeze as anyone could have hoped for, Gaurav Gupta showcased his work on some of India’s leading male and female models. Kangana Ranaut, Aditi Rao Hydari and The Crow Experience, were sparkly icing on the already very glitzy cake.
Designer Gaurav Gupta’s interpretation of “My Style, My Pride”, was “My Expression, My Pride”. Read more about the first leg of the fashion tour with Tarun Tahiliani and his show-stoppers. Gaurav’s interpretation was showcased through his garments as well as the immersive experience crafted by Crow. How we express ourselves and deal with dark emotions, hysteria, ruckus, melancholia, requiem, etc.
The garments were structured, embellished and felt like they were sculpted to each wearers body. Kangana Ranaut’s red flared gown gave a very distinct “princess” vibe as she posed for the cameras and walked round the runway. Aditi Rao Hydari wore an elegant, shimmering, ivory saree gown. It was nice to see the focus on the garments – there was barely an accessorizing or jewellery.
A fun evening, wonderful weather, a packed audience. The lights on the runway were great too ( production by Preferred Professionals after all! ). The Hyderabad crowd was patient and glamorous and in full force.
I got to run around a fair bit in Falaknuma Palace and on its sprawling grounds. Quite a grand location. I was mesmerized by everything including the vintage tiled floors. In terms of documenting this evening as a photographer, there was way too much happening simultaneously at multiple locations and I hope the following images will give you an immersive experience nonetheless.
