Basically what the title says. On a Smart TV. After a modem restart / reset / power outage.
The TV was showing and playing the regular TV channels but none of the digital ones, i.e. the ones that needed the internet. The modem had been restarted almost 40 minutes before the TV was turned on. And the TV in the lounge room was showing the channels just fine. But the Tv in the bedroom was not.
We had tried all the suggestions that AI threw at us. Including holding down the power button on the remote for 5 seconds so that the TV did a restart. We even re re-started the modem. We reset network settings on the TV and disconnected it from the Wi-Fi. And then re-connected to the Wi-Fi, which was super-annoying because OMG typing that password using the remote is just UGH.
At the end, what worked was turning off of the TV entirely at the power outlet. For 60 seconds. And then turning on the power outlet and then turning on the TV and just like that, it was connected to the internet and the channels just showed up.
