Kumaon Regimental Center’s Community Center runs a weaving / loom facility for War Widows and my family & I tend to visit at least once a year if not more. Gorgeous shawls and great quality Merino Wool and hours of handloom weaving go into creating one Dharchuli Shawls and many other products like Tweed coats etc. This time I had my camera with me.
Handy reference of their phone number in case you’re interested to shop with them? They’re a very basic local store and civilians / non-armed-forces people are more than welcome.
It is a Church Building that has been re-purposed into a loom and various other related departments. I find that romantic.
More visual treats from Ranikhet, which is a small hilly town in the state of Uttarakhand.
