#LiveInCotton is a Tumblr photography project commissioned by the Cotton Council International and I’m one of the photographers working on the assignment. It involves photographing people in their regular, daily lives and sharing their thoughts on wearing Cotton. The photographs first show up on the LiveInCotton Tumblr blog here but I’ve also been itching to share the photographs and some extra on the Naina.co blog as well.
Neha Yadav, above was one the first people I profiled for the shoot.
Neha has a career spanning more than a decade. She is currently Group Head, Entertainment & Sports Partnerships at GroupM
For her, cotton is most wearable in a city like Delhi that has summers for almost 8-9 months. As a fabric choice, she has always preferred cotton over any other fabric although she does love Linen as well.
Neha’s Mom has influenced her choice of clothing to a large extent. Neha’s Mom only wears cotton and no other fabric. As a teenager, Neha used to pick out clothes from her Mom’s wardrobe, try them out and her look was mostly “boyish”. In her earlier years she used to follow fashion trends quite keenly, but over the years her preferences lean toward comfort, what suits her body type and her personal style.
She keeps track of fashion via fashion bloggers like The Blonde Salad, Man Repeller and magazines like Vogue also shape her style-thinking. She’s also an avid follower of Victoria Beckham on Instagram.
In this photo, Neha is wearing a beautiful cotton kurta from Anokhi.
