Abraham & Thakore from the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2015. This is the first time I’ve photographed one of their runway shows. It was a photographer’s delight because of all the details. With kurtas, Nehru jackets, salwars and skirts. Kantha embroidery from Orissa. Sequins made from discarded hospital X-Ray film. Antique recycled brocade borders and ribbons. Many of the trousers looked comfortable and enticing enough to be worn during the summers in India. Their collection did use some wool too.

Hi,
Abraham and Thakore is one my favorite designer duo. I would like to point out that Kantha embroidery is essentially considered to be from West Bengal and not Orissa. Love your work Naina. 🙂
Thank you Shatakshi! Kantha can be from Bangladesh, West Bengal or Orissa. In this case the designers chose to focus on work from the latter state. Abraham & Thakore produce some lovely work undoubtedly!
Thank you 🙂
