We’ve been SO caught up with New York Fashion Week that I’ve had no time to share my experience in and around the second Airbnb apartment we stayed at. The one from where we went for all the NYFW shows each day. We were barely at the apartment – and it was a beautiful one – you’ll see, I’ll share the whole thing as soon as I’m done sharing the stuff around it.
There was some confusion with the address, for some reason, my phone’s map app had picked up the Wall Street Plaza as the location of Suzanne’s apartment. We’d taken an Uber from Jamie’s apartment and circled around the block at Wall Street trying to figure out the correct address here. Luckily, I’d saved Suzanne’s number on my phone after she’d confirmed the booking and texted her. She immediately responded giving us the correct address. Phew! We hauled our suitcases to the kind doorman who had been instructed to keep them for us till the apartment was made ready for us – we had reached before the official check-in time.
After depositing our suitcases, we checked the “Explore Around” option on Google Maps and found the Financier Patisserie just behind the apartment block. We walked there, got ourselves iced coffees, I photographed street style and we generally mused about how different Wall Street was from the Lower East Side! The tall buildings did not fit into any of our camera frames. We also noticed that food and beverages seemed more expensive here and there was no Whole Foods in the area!
We then walked over to Zucotti Park where I photographed some more street style. The park is a concrete floored, sparsely tree-planted tiny triangular sliver of green in the middle of really really tall buildings. We watched tourists walking toward the One World Tower – and as I’m writing this today, Akanksha & I are quite shocked we haven’t had time to visit the building and the memorial ourselves.
