After having moved to Australia, I have been enchanted by the sunsets and sunrises here. DSLR and phone photographs aside, I have also been itching to paint these skies. While one circular canvas piece is in the works using my signature lines, oil pastels had been bubbling up in my system for a few weeks and I had to do something about it. I order the biggest set of Sennelier oil pastels, the largest (A3) and thickest (300GSM) Reeves water colour paper I could find and threw myself into it. The paintings have been bottles up inside of me for months and have been spilling out for the last few days.
Adelaide Sky 001 was the first one to spill out. Having taken inspiration from the countless photographs of sunsets and sunrises that I have on my camera roll, I am unsure where it’s going but I know it’s going somewhere.
