Note to self : Remember to drink a glass of cold water before starting on a cake recipe. With a few watermelon ice-cubes thrown in for good measure. Phew. Power cuts, soaring summer temperatures, unavailability of perfect cinnamon sticks… so many obstacles. All for that elusive shot at food photography. Good cake at the end of the exercise is a bonus. Caramel, batter and the base of the cake being prepared. Operation clean-up once the cake is in the microwave [ no oven and never used the convection mode so scared to try the first time – oh I know about the irony ]. Extra caramel poured into a glass to dip fingers in and lick later. And the cake starting to rise on the right, above. I like a glass of cold milk with my serving of cake – this one also tasted really good with a few thin slices of freshly cut apple on the side. *lip smack* This is part of a series of food photography blog posts being carried out after inspiration from a certain book on food photography [ will be reviewing the book as well ].
