Story of my tenth day as a Gurgaon resident.
Woke up around 9 a.m. on a Saturday – which is rare because I sleep in till late even on weekdays. But I had boxes full of garments and footwear to give away to our local “press walla” who also collected the four mattresses I was giving away. The apartment is still packed away in boxes – about 20 percent – and giving away this stuff made more space to open the boxes and arrange the contents.
After lunch, I got out to visit The Wishing Chair, where I was slated to meet with Nitika Bose of Flying Fish Accessories. Not only did I have to return a box of her jewellery that I’d been holding on to for the last 3-4 months, I also wanted to droll over the new stuff from her new jewellery collection. Blue skies and white clouds and a bright sunny day today.
Not only I did I meet the lovely Nitika, I also ended up checking out the work of Mehandee of Banjaaran ( footwear ) and Malleka ( jewellery ). I’m going to be featuring one of Malleka’s pieces in a shoot I did recently and I’ve already featured Mehandee’s work and Nitika’s jewellery previously on the blog.
In the process, thanks to Nitika’s invitation to the pop-up, I ended up discovering a lovely little Gurgaon store! The Wishing Chair is a well-decorate space with lots of home decor to choose from.
On driving back home, I found a package waiting for me at the new address. Priya Kumar’s latest book “The Calling” was in the box, graciously signed by Priya! I’m going to be reading it the coming week. The book would fall in the “self-help” category and Priya has published multiple books in the same category previously as well.
Then I asked the boy to take some photographs of me as part of a mini-CoverUp. I’m wearing shoes by Soludos, denim high-waist shorts by American Apparel, linen shirt by Marks & Spencer, bag by Chiaroscuro and jewellery by Flying Fish Accessories.
I also announced my first ever solo photo exhibition in collaboration with TEDxGurugram!
Gurgaon, so far, has been really nice to me. Which is something I expected. But I didn’t expect it to be this good, this soon. Very pleased with myself at having finally moved away from Noida. Lots of things are happening – watchi this space!
Meanwhile, here are the photos from my tenth day in Gurgaon!
