Smita, La Decoupeuse. Also, Smita, the classmate from school! The launch of the Studio Smita Singh was, of course, an event where I got to see the beautiful art that Smita created. And it was also a great excuse to catch up with some friends from school. I rarely get to meet any of them, life goes on. So, events that bring a bunch of together, are more than welcome excuses to show my face. I was impressed with Smita’s work and the way the studio has been setup. The mirrors especially caught my eye. And not just because of their sheer size. I didn’t get a chance to spend time talking about her work with her, but from whatever little I heard, it was refresing to learn about her professional work practices matching up to international standards. Must have something to do with the fact that she did a stint in France, learning various art forms to apply to her work. You will be seeing more of her work on Naina.co! ( The blog post has more photos of the people that were there than the artwork itself – but like I said, it’s rare I get to meet my class mates and batch mates from The Army Public School, Dahula Kuan, aka TAPSites- so, figures. )
Thank you for having me over Smita. Wish you much luck and success and see you soon!
