Five images from my vast photography portfolio are now available to purchase as prints. Naina.co has an online store! I am very excited with this development and had a tough time picking out which five images to feature for the first lot.
Each of the following images are available in two sizes and each size has five prints available to start with. As we keep selling prints, the items in stock will be updated on the store.
The first set of images are the following [ click on the image to go to it’s page on the store ] :
This was photographed from the roof of The Oberoi Hotel and is unlike any other views of the Humayun’s Tomb that I have seen otherwise. Delhi’s monuments are great choices for photographic prints – especially when there’s greenery around them – it’s like bringing in the cityscape with you, into your personal space. For me, this image represents Delhi – the smoggy horizon with a few electric pylons in the distance, the done of the Humayun’s tomb, the lush greenery and the misty steam rising from the trees in the humid Monsoon months. I don’t usually shoot in a square format but for this image I think it works.
This print comes in two sizes : 12×12 [ Rs. 7,500 ] and 24×24 [ Rs. 25,500 ] inches, the size of the image on the print will be 10×10 and 22×22 inches respectively. 1 inch white border on all four sides to allow space for framing. It is printed on Fuji Crystal archive photograph paper.
This fiery red May Flower was photographed somewhere in Sikkim. This has been one of the flowers I have grown up with. When I was younger, I used to wonder in amazement that this plant would only flower in the month of May! My mother’s potted garden always had a few of these beauties. I’ve photographed them enough where the entire plant is visible but this was the first time I’d gotten so close to the flower – and it had tiny water droplets!
The size of the print is 30×20 [ Rs. 16,500 ] and 18×12 [ Rs. 7,500 ] inches, the size of the image on the print will be 29×19 and 16×10 inches respectively. 1 inch white border to allow space for framing. It is printed on Fuji Crystal archive photograph paper. The 18×12 of this print was also the first print that was sold!
The Sikkim-China border from the India side is a barren, rocky and broken landscape. It is dotted with tiny lakes in the laps of mountains and snow-capped peaks always in the distance. The weather is unpredictable and the muddy roads quickly turn into swampy slush within a few minutes of rain. The cold mountain air rushing through your lungs stays with you for days together even when you’re back in your office, sitting at your desk, staring out the window, looking for those mountains in the distance.
The size of the print is 30×20 [ Rs. 31,500 ] and 18×12 [ Rs. 12,500 ] inches, the size of the image on the print will be 28×18 and 16×10 inches respectively. 1 inch white border to allow space for framing. It is printed on Fuji Crystal archive photograph paper.
The Ladakh region of India has fascinated me since childhood. I’ve visited it many times over the last decade and it never ceases to welcome me with me landing at the airport, stepping out and with a sharp intake of breath, starting on my journey. The entry of an airplane into the Leh airport valley is preceded by flying over multitudes of mountains that are visible as far as the distorted plastic windows of the airplane will let you see. Depending on the season in which you visit, you will either find fully snow-covered mountain peaks or pockets like these where the brown peaks stare at the sun and the laps are full of meters-deep snow. The heat from the airplane engine distorts the image slightly on the right bottom edge; it WAS photographed from the pane after all.
It isn’t a cinnamon roll – it’s a mountain range. In the Ladakh region of India. There are so many hues that these mountain ranges come in that I was stunned when drove through this area for the first time. I could not believe what I was seeing. The colors are from mineral deposits in the rock and how that reacts when it is exposed to moisture and the air and the heat of the sun. I have more photographs of other mountain ranges that were as colorful and I am planning to release those as a print series as well. Soon.
The size of the print is 36×20.2 [ Rs. 31,500 ] and 18×10 [ Rs. 17,500 ] inches, the size of the image on the print will be 34×18 and 16×08 inches respectively. 1 inch white border to allow space for framing.
The reason I chose a varied set of prints for the first lot was to understand what it was that people were interested in showing-off on the walls of their homes and offices. Depending on the interest in various themes, I will be adding more collections and themes and figuring out more payment options especially for people who are ordering internationally.
Currently, the best way for Indian client to make a purchase is to express interest by sending me an email on [email protected] and telling me which print they would like to buy. I will then share my bank details with them, they will add me as a beneficiary using their bank’s NetBanking facility and once the payment is received, I will print the item and ship it to them.
