After photographing Wendell Rodrick’s collection at the WIFWSS13, I interacted with him over email and found out he was doing a small book-reading / book-launch in Delhi and was thrilled that I’d be able to finally meet him!
The book is called The Green Room and I am about to finish reading it. You can buy a copy from Flipkart [ that’s my affiliate link ]. I will, shortly, also be posting my review of the book. Suffice to say that despite my liking Wendell as a person [ the little that I know him that is ], his book is insightful is so many ways especially if you’re doing business in India – even if you’re not in the “fashion” business directly. Really. Read it. [ Not business tips but more about understanding someone’s journey and what worked. ]
There wasn’t much going on at the launch in terms of visuals – after all – the main launches had already taken place much earlier at various other Indian cities. Hence, I decided to focus on making some portraits of Wendell. Ritu Kumar was the chief Guest and asked him some questions, which then Wendell replied to by reading from his book. He’s a charming story-teller!
And with that, the book reading and book launch came to an end. I don’t think there was anyone else as excited as I was in that room! Yay! Thank you for signing a book for me @wendellrodricks – I am thoroughly enjoying it!
