#AIFWSS16 = Amazon India Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2016 I was only able to make it to the last day – day five – because I only got back…
Street Style Photography in India & My Journey
Having spent the last couple of years lamenting about how there is no half-decent street photography project in India, I was too scared to try it myself. The visual of me, a girl, standing on the streets of Delhi / Noida / Gurgaon, with my camera used to shut down the plan as soon as it came up in my head. Where would I stand? What if someone came up to me and demanded to know just who the hell I thought I was, pointing my camera at whoever I please?

I Am Alive, by Amalraj Sengupta at the Amazon India Fashion Week autumn/Winter 2015 was dedicated to Red Indians. "It is a small way of putting across a message to the world, from a Red Indian... JJ Valaya #AIFWAW15
The Bolshoi Bazaar by JJ Valaya was a heady, colorful mix of Russia and India. Words like "royal", "majestic", come to mind. JJ also had some fabulous men walk the runway wearing his clothes. It was a fun collection to watch.
Namrata Joshipura #AIFWAW15
Narmata Joshipura's Autumn/Winter collection is called Night Goddess. It is inspired by Nyx, who is the goddess of the night from Greek mythology and identified with mystery, beauty and power. Satin, gowns, faux fur, culottes and super sexy silhouettes. Everything was stunning and hopefully my fitness regimen might allow me to actually get a piece or two!
Hemant & Nandita #AIFWAW15
Hemant and Nandita showcased a gypsy/boho collection called Boho Caravan. With carpet inspired prints and colorful embroidery, the collection looked like a happy-go-lucky one. The music during the runway presentation definitely added to the thrilling happy vibe! I would love to try one of their beautiful and intricate blanket overcoats for the next Indian winter season!
Abraham & Thakore #AIFWAW15
Abraham & Thakore from the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2015. Kantha embroidery from Orissa. Sequins made from discarded hospital X-Ray film. Antique recycled brocade borders and ribbons. Many of the trousers looked comfortable and enticing enough to be worn during the summers in India.
Rajesh Pratap Singh #WIFWSS15 #EyesForFashion
Denim and Indigo. Stunning pieces. So many to choose from! And Rajesh PRatap Singh had his kaarigars / craftspeople seated on the runway too. What a brilliant, lovely way to…

Bodice #AIFWAW15
Bodice by fashion designer Ruchika Sachdeva is the 2014 recipient of the Vogue Fashion Fund. Ruchika's clothes bring the words, "relaxed", "travel", "ease", to mind. Simple silhouettes and natural dyes make it a personal favourite for me.
Anju Modi #AIFWAW15
Anju Modi's "How To Write A Fairy Tale" was such a lovely presentation! Princes and Princesses and adorable crowns. Gorgeous hair on the models and Anju's staple and great handiwork on each ensemble.
Grand Finale #AIFWAW15
25 of India's leading fashion designers - veterans most of them and a few stellar new ones. Stunning pieces and setup and lovely that the designers walked the runway at the end as well. It is unfair that so many of us love and adore their work and don't see enough of the faces behind the collections. Styled by Gautam Kalra. Produced by Preferred Professionals.
Pero #AIFWAW15
Pero's Princess Pea collection was plaid and pashmina and florals. They even had a Military Band in the background on stage for live music! I think it was the Madras Regiment band it was quite an experience to hear this music at Fashion Week! I don't know if it's been done before but as the child of an Army Officer, I LOVED it!
Pankaj & Nidhi #AIFWAW15
One of my favourite designer duos who show at the Delhi Fashion Week are Pankaj & Nidhi. Their's was the finale show on the third day of the Amazon India Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2015 and they did not disappoint. Not like disappointment is ever a possibility with them! This collection is called Rouge Minerale and was styled by Gautam Kalra.
Rajesh Pratap Singh #AIFWAW15
The opening show of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn / Winter 2015 was by Rajesh Pratap Singh. It was all downhill from there. This show set the bar quite high. There is more than a few pieces from this show that I'm currently coveting.
