If you know about Nagai, Gurgaon, you’ll be pleased to know that the restaurant is now going to be open for weekend brunch! So far, it was only open in the evenings but that’s changed from the 4th of June. More changes coming soon.
If you did not know about Nagai, Gurgaon, well, now you do! Lovely Japanese fare. Sushi of course. The soba noodles were wonderful too – balanced flavours, which is what Head Chef Reina Nagai is well known for. But if I had to pick one thing that you must try? The coconut / mango / ginger panacotta. OMG. You have to. But will be available seasonally only because they use fresh mangoes. I gulped down the matcha tiramisu as well ( what to do – sweet tooth got the better of me ) but the coconut panacotta WON.
The restaurant has two levels for now – one basement, which is where the bar and the washrooms are. I almost went into the “Samurai” titled men’s washroom because the mirrors and the grey walls tricked my brain into believing that it was the last room at the end of the corridor. Luckily the bartender spotted me and pointed me to take a couple of steps extra to spot the “Geisha” door. Heh.
Above, Chef Reina Nagai.
Lunch organized by Parul Pratap and Quirk India.
( If you were there at this lunch, fret not, portraits coming soon! Keep an eye out on the EyesForPeople.com page! )
