Walking around aimlessly. That is, in my opinion, a great way to get to know a city. It also allows you to walk around and mentally mark the spots you would like to photograph when you are photo-walking the next day. The thing about travel photography that really gets me going is that not only does it allow me to make photographs of these lovely places, it also allows me to make friends – strangers smile at you, walk up to you and ask you about your camera and sometimes there is even free dinner involved! Architecture, as a subject of photography, provides variety because the style varies from country to country, city to city and there is no dearth of subjects.
