On each sunny day, both of us wanted to go chill at a park. the one closest to our Wall Street Airbnb apartment was called Battery Park and it look a whole lot bigger than the Zucotti park we’d walked through the day before. So we walked to the waterfront and it was beautiful. There’s a ferry you can take for Staten Island for views of the Statue of Liberty from there. Among other things. There’s smaller park spaces to laze around in, the waterfront to jog and walk on and the grass has lots of chipmunks!
We stopped for beer and lunch at a restaurant called Pier A, it looked expensive and beautiful and it was a happy sunny day.
Pier A’s menu. Considering the location, prices were accordingly slightly higher than what we’d seen earlier. The restaurant’s outside seating was almost completely occupied and that looked promising. The beer was nice but the grilled salmon was dry and hard and then I found a wire in it. The restaurant took it back and took it off our tab and sent us complimentary desserts ( which we returned ) but I was very disappointed and we decided to walk to a green patch and eat our M&Ms while laying down in the grass and we did!
It is really hard to not photograph the One World Center. It’s visible from everywhere and stands tall. And it is a beautiful structure – how it reflects everything around it – I find profundity in that. I highly recommend walking through all of Battery Park – it is beautiful.
