The ladies were a joy to photograph, especially Anju and Krishna. And both Krishna and I were rocking a red lip. Krishna was SO fabulous. I got so many great photographs of her that the HTBrunch team and I had a very hard time picking out THE ONE. Even in this blog post, I’ve ended up using two of hers. Each of these women create stunning, beautiful garments. I think I might have been focusing more on what each of them was wearing from their own labels, than on posing them. Not my fault really. I wanted everything! It was an honor to photograph Ritu ma’am. I wore a lehenga from her label when I got married! Full circle eh.
As a photographer who has photographed way too many seasons of fashion week, to me, it can seem like I’ve seen it all. So, when I get an opportunity to interact with them on a different playing field, I get super excited. To have an editor like Jamal, who I KNOW has my back and to have Lubna who has tackled Delhi like an ace, my job is a whole lot easier. Amit’s art direction and support meant a lot during this photography gig. It was nice to have him on set and his experience helped in making the photos better.
To read more about each of these fashion icons, you’re going to have to head over to the HTBrunch website. ( Or better, ask your newspaper delivery person to subscribe you to Hindustan Times. The HTBrunch magazine will be delivered to your doorstep, each Sunday, with the Sunday edition of the Hindustan Times newspaper ).
Roseate House is a crazy beautiful location, with more than a dozen “cover photo” backdrop quality nooks and corners. Thank you Ranjita for facilitating the shoot. Special thanks to Amit and Lubna for their immense patience, professionalism, support and guidance. I could not have done it without them. And Jamal, for always challenging me. I love it.
