No, they don’t use any pure ghee in any of their products! Pure Ghee Designs, by Aditi, makes beautiful textile products. Hand bags ( I have one in green Mashru silk, which the brand sent over a few years ago ), textile jewellery and even a camera strap ( made from waste / scrap pieces of textile ) that they customized for me.
The first time I had heard about the brand was in 2017, which is when they sent me their beautiful green Mashru silk bag, which I carried with me to Suryagarh and photographed there.
This time, in October 2019, when they invited me to visit their workshop at Aya Nagar in Delhi and celebrate a decade of their work, I collected all the textile flowers they had ever sent to me and put them together on the same 2017 bag. PureGhee had also sent across a beautiful camera strap, which I looped around the brass hooks of the bag. And I looped one of their textile flowers around one of my own hand-painted brooches and wore the combination. I even wore one of their flowers as a finger ring, looped around my ring finger.
Because why not!
Don’t miss the beautiful vintage ear rings on Aditi’s ear towards the end of this blog post. She put together two separate ear rings from her Mother and her Grand Mother, made them easier to wear and sported them for the 10th Year Anniversary of PureGhee Designs.
Made In India is a wonderful slogan. But actually making in India and being able to sustain a profitable brand while employing local artisans – now THAT is quite something else.
It would be a travesty to not mention the sourdough bread, dips and most of the food that was made and curated by A Mad Tea Party. Anita is also doing quite well on Instagram. Fabulous. And the Hibiscus Tea, the Blue Pea Flower Tea and cold brew coffee.
It felt like I was at friend’s home for evening tea. Quite atypical compared to the usual “Delhi Brand Events” especially during “season”.
