My sixth day at Bangalore started with a visit to the Prestige Tech Park at Marathahalli, where I was visiting friends for lunch and a visit to their Frog Design Office. Since we quickly established that I would not be allowed to make photographs in the office, we decided to settle for lunch & hoped that Frog Design / Aricent Group would quickly launch a larger office and will be more open to being photographed and blogged about.
The fruit punch at the restaurant called 24 was excellent – they mixed in a scoop of ice-cream while blending it & it was fab. Also picked on some lunch of curd rice and roast chicken and some gourd vegetable.
The mobile phone network / reception was absolute crap within the confines of the Prestige Tech Park – I was wondering why such a large area with such a large density of offices would not have it’s own dedicated signal tower.
From Prestige Tech Park, I headed to Koramangala, Costa Coffee, where I was meeting @beastoftraal. @gauravvaz also dropped in and we made our way to their office, Random Lines [ you have to visit their website if you’re looking to have a website designed – some excellent work in their portfolio ]. I was pillion riding on a motorcycle after ages and it was nice to have my face plastered with Bangalore pollution. *smirk*
After a visit to Gaurav’s office, we headed to this new place / pub / bar, which has recently opened in Bangalore. There was a lot of traffic to be traversed and I was happy to have company in the auto rickshaw, which meant I could take pictures without worrying about where the driver was taking me.
After a visit to Gaurav’s office, we headed to this new place / pub / bar called Monkey Bar, which has recently opened in Bangalore. They are on Twitter @monkeybarblr and Facebook and highly recommended if you love Pork Spare Ribs. OH MY GOD.
The Sangria was decent as well. After two helping of pork spare ribs, I felt sick. The best I have ever eaten. We were seated in the basement level, which also has a Fussball table and a pool table. Of course, you can forget about mobile phone reception.
After a while @flyfiddlesticks joined us and while I was happy he could make it, the loud music didn’t really allow any conversation. Hopefully sometime in the future Prassna!
I couldn’t stop grinning at the two posters that had been put on the wall side-by-side in the ladies loo!
From the Monkey Bar, we headed to an ice cream store called Pabrai’s, which was around the corner. I hadn’t heard of such flavors earlier and after tasting a few, jumped at Orange & Basil. It was LOVELY. But since I’d already gorged on the pork earlier, there was no way I could have two helpings.
Post dinner it was back in an auto rickshaw and back to my room at Mekhri Circle. I love the way they had painted the tree trunks blue and white. Day six was one of the best days in the entire trip. Where it flew by, I have no idea except to look at the images above and wonder how I packed so much into it!
Bangalore Day Five, Bangalore Day Four, Bangalore Day Three, Bangalore Day 02 and Day 01 at Bangalore as blogged previously.
