A few days back, on social media, Akanksha and I announced Airbnb as one of our Hospitality Partners for the #EyesForNewYork project! I’ve been meaning to blog about it as well, to give a few more details and to share some photographs and details of the apartments! Our main search criteria while on Airbnb was to look for apartments as close to the New York Fashion Week locations as possible. Secondly, we also wanted to experience both options : of having the host sharing the apartment with us and of living in the entire apartment by ourselves.
We were thrilled when Airbnb India’s team responded with gusto to our proposal and I’m delighted to share the following two apartments that Akanksha and I will be living in while we are in New York all September!
One of the apartments we’re going to be living in is at the Lower East Side with some fantastic views! Jamie’s 23rd Floor Luxury Apartment caught our eye because of the massive clear glass windows overlooking the city. Here are some photograph and screenshots from the apartment’s page on Airbnb :
The second apartment we’re going to be living in is at the Financial District! It has been decorated well and should put us right in the middle of all the suit-types! Suzanne’s “A Real New Yorker’s FiDi Apartment” caught our eye because it looked well-maintained and it would be a nice change from the otherwise colourful New York Fashion Week madness that both Akanksha and I are going to be subjected to!
We can’t thank the Airbnb India team enough for getting on board with our pitch! This is an unprecedented brand-blogger/photographer/influencer collaboration in India and since we announced this on our social media, there has been immense interest shown by many other brands in the EyesForNewYork project. Not many have turned out to be pioneers like Airbnb but we have a positive outlook on change in the coming years!
Meanwhile, there’s a new city to explore and new neighbourhoods to live in thanks to Airbnb’s hospitality and I for one can’t wait to start photographing everything in sight the moment I land in the city of New York!
